Simple really. Money and fame = corruption. I'm not saying it's always true, but most of the time it is. When Jagex first came out with Runescape, they seemed to care a lot more about the players than just getting the money. Then Runescape 2 came out, and more and more updates were based on low levels and most of the news quests really didn't seem that great. It seemed that Jagex just wanted to make people get members and get more money.
Because somehow it would be better for RuneScape for them to not have profits in mind? How else will they expand their staff allowing for bigger and better things in the future? Am I missing something?
And you act like RuneScape offers nothing for you to do. They cannot only have higher level updates. And do not say 'I don't want them to have only higher level updates, I want them just to have more' because more is never enough. They add higher level updates here and there. They release a skill, which everyone can do [the ideal update]. They release a new minigame... new quests... they release things that everyone can do. Why are you complaining? If you want things that only you and a few thousand other people can do in an elitist way, excluding anyone lower than level 110, then you'll have to be patient and wait for Jagex to release something like that. As it has a low target audience and the majority of their players won't reach level 110 in the near future, it serves little purpose for them to do this.
And don't compare RSC and RS2. RS2 has made it so much easier to train that you have become a 'higher level' in half the time. If you had been the same level in RSC, you would have nothing to do at this point besides duel and PK, etc. just like you do now. Except now you also have some minigames to do.
