Hay guise bet you can't get a speedtest to New Zealand even 10% as fast as this
My flatmate works in the network research department of our university and this is a speedtest from one of the networks on a 100Mbit switch (and the university itself is only connected to the outside world on a 1Gbit link so this is pretty impressive). The university's ISP also only has 1Gbit of total bandwidth across the Southern Cross Cable (New Zealand's only international link, to Australia) to dish out though, so needless to say, speeds to other countries aren't quite as flattering...
The Hamilton speedtest server is operated by the university's ISP though, so it would be interesting to see how fast it would go, say, in the middle of the night, if it weren't limited by the switch...
