Ancient Effigies
Well, The time has come... I've needed a long set goal for quite a while now and i've came to a conclusion. 91 RC via Effigies. You may be laughing but in reality this is a very achievable goal.

UPDATE! January 29th
1,000 Mithril Dragons killed and logged! 7 Effigies obtained. 4 Elite clues which can all be seen Here. Hidden below is the log. I’ll give a update every thousand kills

Image

To achieve 91 RC i'll need around 138 Effigies however, i'll be gaining the maximum potential from each and every effigy. I'll be using my effigies in a series of phases. In Order to do this i'll need to raise just a few of my skills. Listed below are the paired skills in which one may be used to successfully investigate the effigy along with my current level.

Crafting(99)Agility(82)
Construction(99)Thieving(83)
Smithing(99)Mining(90)
Farming(99)Fishing(86)
Herblore(99)Hunter(80)
Cooking(99)Firemaking(99)
Fletching(99)Woodcutting(99)
Runecrafting(78)Summoning(99)

For the first investigation you need a required level 91 in the specific skill. As you can see above not all of my stats are 91+. Thank god for stat boosters. [-o< Heres what i'll need to achieve.

82 Agility ---> 86 Agility (Summer pie +5)
83 Thieving ---> 87 Thieving (Abyssal stealth scroll +4)
80 Hunter ---> 83 Hunter (Mud bath +10%)
90 Mining ---> Completed (Dwarven Stout +1/2)
86 Fishing ---> Completed (Admiral Pie +5)
My Cooking/Firemaking, Fletching/Woodcutting, and Summoning are all at 99 so I won’t need to be worrying about them.

According to some basic probability gaining ~138 effigies 'should' result in around 17 of each skill pairs. This would yield me 255k (15k x 17) with a gain of one or two levels dependent on the skill. In result of this slight bonus, I will only need to train a maximum of 1 level (if that) to get the next phase requirement of level 93. Then the process will repeat.

With that out of the way now the question is which monster will drop effigies with a decent rate. With a few days of experimentation and hours of research i've decided on killing Mithril Dragons. I'm not going to go into detail about how i'm going about killing these but if your curious i'd be more then glad to tell you. My current method yields me around 60 kills/hr. I will be keeping a log in a spreadsheet and will make that available to you here once I get 1,000 kills logged.

Most of my progress will be displayed on my Runewire including effigy drops, Elite clues, and misc levels.

Like I said this is more of a long term goal versus a grinding one although my main focus will still primarily be obtaining Effigies and getting those few levels I need! Wish me luck!

o.0 Good luck! Going to take quite a bit of time and effort, though knowing you I don't have any doubts that you'll make it possible.

Yeah. :) of course! I'm debating if I should use them every 1k kills or all at once.

One of my friends got 99 Runecrafting using this method.
Imo though I kinda think It's degrading RC because I had to do it the hard way (ZMI/Graahk) when other people can just slay and get the drop and get their xp. They don't actually train the skill itself.
