With Valve updating Team Fortress 2 in the past week, and with a free weekend coming up, we figured you have more than enough excuses to download and try TF2 FREE. Since this event will occur on Thursday, you'll need to purchase TF2, or get someone to give you their Guest Pass for that day. TF2 is currently promoted as half off pricing (9.99 USD), a real steal if you don't already have the Orange Box. Come play as the Pyro, Sniper, Spy, Heavy, Medic, Soilder, Scout, or Demoman and beat your friends time and time again on the RSBandB Team Fortress 2 Server!

When? Starting Thursday, May 28th, in lieu of Team Deathmatch. This will be a temporary alternative, unless turnout is far better than HL2:DM.

Where? 209.160.21.177:27018 - RSBandB TF2 Server

Note - You must have a free Steam Account and a PC that is capable of running Team Fortress 2.

PC Requirements

Minimum: 1.7 GHz Processor, 512MB RAM, DirectX® 8 level Graphics Card, Windows® Vista/XP/2000, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

Recommended: Pentium 4 processor (3.0GHz, or better), 1GB RAM, DirectX® 9 level Graphics Card, Windows® Vista/XP/2000, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

At the time of this posting, it is the 28th, so that promotion is over. I don't know why you'd even say that now anyway

In the first post I suggested that people test out TF2 over the past weekend while it was free, and make a decision if they wanted to buy while it was still half price. It is now back up to 19.99 USD, so that promotion is over. If anyone you know recently got TF2 or bought it through the Orange Box, they should have a TF2 Pass that could let someone use TF2 for 3 days. If you asked nicely, maybe they could let you have the guest pass

Anyway, if the turnout is good, we'll keep this as the event for Thursdays. If it doesn't, we'll go back to the free HL2:Deathmatch.

I'll be there under pain of death. However, is the server even up yet? Not showing up on the server list.
P.S. If the turnout ISN'T better, can I host an unofficial tf2 event at the same time on my own server and announce it here?

Server is running. If you can't find it, try just the IP without the port (aka 209.160.21.177 instead of 209.160.21.177:27018 ) and then add the TF2 server from there.

You can host your own as an unofficial event, but we had a 13v13 or 14v14 person game going for quite a while. Unfortunately the turnout was mostly non BNB, though we had a better turnout from BNB people than normal. It'll be the new PC event till further notice.

This week we'll have a map rotation so we're not on 2fort the entire time (not that I minded at all

). I believe we're setting it up to be entirely CTF so having few people won't matter too much, though I expect a decent turnout once we start going.

EDIT - Thursday's turnout was only Kirby, Shane, and myself. I really expected more people, considering how everyone seems to love TF2.

We're going back to HL2:DM till future notice. Remember, it's free and you don't need a halfway decent computer to run it.
