To avoid the tortured souls' attacks, you have to run get the cloud to follow you into either a tortured soul, or a worm. It's easiest to just run right through a soul, but the timing that you do this is important. The tortured soul does not send off the attack right away, so you have to wait a bit before moving. You still have to be on the side that you want the attack to spawn when it spawns, but be in the process of moving to other side. Ticks in RuneScape are approximately 0.6 seconds, and when running you will go 2 squares in a tick.
Sequence of events:
- Purple warning text
- 1.8 seconds pass
- Tortured soul(s) appear - Get ready to click
- 1.2 sec
- Tortured souls say something - Click on opposite side of a soul (if you get hit clicking at this point, you need to click just before the text would appear because either your reaction time is not fast enough, or your ping is too high)
- 0.6 sec
- Clouds appear and your character starts running
- 0.6 sec
- Your character is now on the opposite side of the soul, and the cloud is on top of the soul *boom*
When 4 spawn around you, you have to go diagonal or else some of the clouds wont hit a soul. If you have problems with getting them to hit a soul, you can just run to the other side of a worm when the souls spawn and wait for the clouds to hit the worm, but that is not as time efficient.
