When I have my computer, whether or not I'm listening to music, my speakers make this odd popping noise. Does anyone know why this could be?

Yup, is your cell phone near your computer?

Then that is the reason haha.

When your phone gets a signal, it interferes with the speakers.

If moving your phone works, the great- you've solved your problem. But similarly, lots of other things can have the same effect- modems/routers, cordless phones and even other speakers. Basically anything electronic can interfere. As a side note I'd also add that sometimes the source of interference can be inside the computer itself- hard drives especially can sometimes cause problems with sound cards. Similarly, damaged or just poor quality speaks cables can equally mess up your sound quality like this.

Hmm well considering the desk where my PC is, is a hive of electronic stuff then thats probably the case. It has to be noted that it seems to occur more when I put my phone on top of my computer tower to charge it up, which would point toward it being a mobile phone problem. Thanks guys :D
