Patchdownloading

I got Battlefield 2 as an early x-mas gift from a friend and I am trying to download patch 1.41 so I can download 1.50 and the mod packs. I hit the download button and the window asks if I want to run or save it. I hit the run button and an hour later, it finishs downloading. The first try nothing happened, the second time it said the setup.exe had crashed after the download had finished. I'm doing something wrong, what is it? Should I be hitting save instead of rune?

I would go back and hit save. It couldn't hurt.

Above are the links for 1.41 and 1.5 for the patches. Just go to the site, and download them to your computer. ALWAYS save the file, never run. One of the many ways people get screwed over from using Internet Explorer is just running files instead of saving them first.

The install files are pretty hefty in size, one reason they could have failed is due to a lack of harddrive space. Make sure there is room before you download.

Alternatively, be sure you're on a good connection. The first file is 536mb, and the second is nearly 2GB. If your connection craps out at any time, you're likely to lose the entire file.

Thanks, not saving was my issue. Hopefully my internet doesnt crap out when I try to do 1.5
