Password Protect a Folder

I was looking for a way to password protect my files in Vista and I Googled it and it said that I couldn't apply a password. Am I missing something? :?
Anyway,how would I do this?

You cannot protect a folder. You can make it a .zip file and put a password on it there.

Password protecting something isn't a great way to secure them. If you've got something you want to keep save, use something like TrueCrypt to encrypt them so prying eyes can't see your files. Password protected files can often be bypassed and files can be seen, whereas encryption will look like totally random data unless you know the password to get in.
