They surely have the material to. (In order of epicness, first three are very close. The last is clearly my least favorite. )

Green Lantern

Will be either first or second. And it can only be second if Thor is first. The only thing that may make people dislike it is the massive use of CGI.

THOR!

Marvel continues to impresses me. After The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man, they bring out another Avenger and this one look the best out of them. I mean the actor look badass and special effects and fighting scenes look AWESOME.

Captain America The First Avenger

This is one great aswel. Tho, I'm bit more hyped about Thor and GL than Capt. But, Captain look still amazing. It's been years that I'm awaiting for this movie. And it will rocks.

X-Men First Class

It's not that I think it looks bad, but FOX are annoying jerks. They didn't respect the source material. First class with NO CYCLOPS AND NO JEAN GREY? Suckers. It's like saying Transformers without Optimus and Megatron. I will go to see First Class for sure and probably will like it, but I won't have the same expectations that I have for GL and Thor.

In the end, I strongly think that one of these movies will win Summer Box Office. However, I don't think it will break a record like The Dark Knight did.
Who elses agree? Who think Marvel or DC will win? And if not, say who.

P.S: If neither of these movies prevails. JUST FREAKING WAIT IN 2012! YOUR MIND WILL BE BLOWN! THEY WILL TOTALLY RAPE AVATAR, TITANIC AND ALL OTHERS. THERE WILL BE:

The Avengers (My most hyped movie in history)
The Dark Knight Rises (Might break every records, remember the hype for TDK, double or triple that.)
The Amazing SpiderMan
Superman THE MAN OF STEEL
Possibly Wolverine 2 and Deadpool

You could be right, but I will not be attending any of those movies this summer.... Because honestly the only DC or Marvel character I like is Batman.

Mmm...my hopes are a little low for these movies. I think it'll be hit or miss. Some of these movies will be good...the rest probably garbage. That's just my feeling.

NOBODY INSULT THOR RAAWRRRR xD

I understand your opinion and I respect it, but could you at least say which movie could potentielly win.
And I'm saying this because besides Green Lantern and Thor, what other movie could win?

Harry Potter? Lol who isn't tired to see Harry in his 67th movie?
Transformers 3? This is so going to be a disaster.
Cars 2? Lol...

The only movie that could probably pose problem is Pirates 4. And I'd be ***** because it's one of the most overrated movie franchise.

Harry Potter and Transformers 3 actually do have a good chance of beating out those... regardless of whether you like them or not, lots of people will still go to see them. Great movies don't necessarily attract people to buy tickets, they'll go for what they know.

Of the ones listed, I'm looking forward to Captain America the most, followed by (in order of expectations) X-Men, The Green Lantern, and then Thor. The previews just seemed so lame. Could be a misjudgment, but if the movies are close to the trailers, I'm thinking they won't do that well. I'm really looking forward to Pirates, Harry Potter, and a few others, but of the ones above, I can't wait to see how Captain America turns out. 8)

i think the green lantern will be good, but the story is the same as the cartoon movie. senistro trying to take over the universe type of thing. it's just going to look like tron.

@trekkie: Green Lantern's villain will be Parallax not Sinestro. Sinestro will be vilain of sequel (?)

@Kulla: I agree. Transformers is great visually, they have great soudtrack, Transformers 1 is one of my favorite movies, and T3 will win alot of money for sure. BUT, it'll be hard to bounce back. I mean sequel was average and filled up with clichés. 2 000 explosions, close up and slow-motion on Megan Fox's chest while she's running, titled THE REVENGE, destroying the sun. And now with the threequel they fired Megan. What the hell. Well I won't boycott the movie because of that but, overall, my expectations for 3rd one aren't the same I had for the first. I will go to see it, probably will like it, might win box office and I'd be happy if it did.

About Harry Potter. I know it's a very high grossing movie franchise. But to me, it's Twilight's equivalent. I mean the first one was great, but now that they're on the 8th(?), it really gets old. I can't really understand why do people still love it after so many movies. Yep, it had great chances of success but I won't be seeing it since I've quit the franchise after the 2nd one.

I think the Harry Potter story is great. I didn't think I'd ever read the books, but I've enjoyed every single one I've read so far (currently on the 4th, The Goblet of Fire). It's a well told story and people love it. Sure, it's been drawn out, but that's because it still sells and people enjoy it. Also, each story isn't the same necessarily. Harry gets older and wiser with each book, making each story and each test different and challenging in new ways. And I wouldn't compare Harry Potter to Twilight either. Twilight is complete crap. HP has some redeeming qualities and the story is well told. The popularity is high for both, but not for the same reasons or the same crowd.
