a) I simply don't like the sound
b) The lyrics are essentially suicide notes with a bit of rhyme scheme.

Agreed.
Also, most of the songs on the radio today, because they are (mostly) annoying pop music or bad rap, and are overplayed regardless of what they are.

ya, i dont rly notice anything suicidal in country. just people who cant get over a simple problem that pretty much EVERYONE face. "oh no my girlfriend left me, lets make a song about drinking...oh no my...wife? left me...lets make a song about...drinking." thats mostly what country songs are about today

i despise rap where all they talk about is *** and how gangsta they are, and also any jonas brothers music. super heavy death metal like cannibal corpse is simply disgusting, and country all sounds the same, therefore i dislike it. i love rap and metal, but only if it has a semi- decent message

That's because he's 16. I don't hate a lot of music, turned off by crunkcore, house (specifically awfulmau5), most subgenres of metal, and specific bands such as Radiohead or Muse.

Like Lady Gaga and other pop, though.

Music I don't LOVE is music that I hate.

Rap , Hip Hop , most Country ( I like George Strait , Gram Parsons ) Pop. ( stuff on today's radio ) with all the autotune. Hate It!
Hardcore screaming stuff. ( if I can't understand what you're saying then I can't relate to it, and if I can't relate to it , then I don't like it ) [-X

I'm read through all of this, and I have to agree with the general consensus
-rap
-hip-hop
-Screamo (does not include metal)
-I can stand some country, but I hate most of it
-Pop (bieber, gaga, ke$ha etc.), although i like popish rock, like Weezer (they sound closer to older pop than alt rock to me)

Rap is my the first one on my list of hated music. I'm not totally against all rap, some of it can be decent, like the music Will Smith used to do. His was a little more upbeat and you could understand the lyrics.

The other music I absolutely can't stand is "Polka". It's real big around here where I live. When I hear it playing, I feel like my head may erupt (similar to what happened to the aliens in the Mars Attack's movie, lol)

I personally hate Bieber, the Disney/nickelodeon/whoever sponsored bands. just too much stupid tween stuff. I generally don't hate styles, just a few completely talentless artists like those aforementioned, Lady Gaga, gangsta' rap (though i do like Mos Def which is mostly pretty good social commentary), Simple Plan (interesting sound, crappy lyrics) and Snoop Dog. Not a big fan of country as a whole, but there are some pretty good artists and guitarists out there in the genre or in related genres (like ZZ Top for example, or even Eric Jonson has some country influence in his music, just listen to the main riff of Cliffs of Dover and you'll see what I mean). I'd have to agree, polka in general is pretty lame, but the couple of polka songs that "Weird Al" Yankovic has done are pretty funny for containing a ton of references to other music, plus the accordion is one of the hardest instruments to play and he plays it really well.
