I live approx 40 mins from where the servers are located and I must say I'm currently disappointed.

The lag is quite bad, even Andrew mentioned on the official forums that there was some tweaking to be done as yet.

I'm really hopeful that they can fix it.

PS: I can give you a whole heap of technical information on why the server/s are laggy, but there might only be 20 people here who can understand it, so I won't.

Well there are alot more Free-Players. Jagex creates more servers for more players. I mean, how would you like it if you were a free-player and you were no longer able to play because all the worlds were full?

Barley. Check the servers 90 percent of the time members have around 1.2k people on every world with a few exceptions. Same goes for f2p. Diffrence is we pay for less crowded worlds. And to answer your second question...most games that do give free trials have limited servers so no, i would expect to have trouble getting in. That's life.
