Adventurers, dust off your cats and feed them up with fish... today’s update will have you and your moggy engaged once more in cat-astrophes of a feline flavour.

The Rat Catchers quest will have you sneaking about, experimenting with new cat concoctions and, of course, catching rats. All this will give you access to all sorts of cat-related features including a whole new minigame, new growth stages for your cat and the opportunity to give your cat a name.

Gertrude’s friends will introduce you to brand new subterranean areas in some of the world’s most familiar places. Here, being the best cat trainer really begins to pay off as you challenge your friends and foes for glory and the spoils of victory.

Keep your ears peeled for 6 great new audio tracks, and be sure to try out the game’s first interactive musical instrument!

In other news, we have re-balanced the experience points available via the Barbarian Outpost to make the rewards more generous.

I enjoy the funny updates more than the boring updates.

I mean, how many different ways can you kill a monster? Or how many different monsters do you even want to kill.

So, with that said, I really enjoy the funny updates, they make RS have something unique from the huge pile of MMORPGs that exist.

Besides, I like the cat stuff

I did Gertrude's Cat quest and Itchlarians Little Helper but I don't have a cat and don't plan getting one soon. Pointless update for me.

I'd like to say that this is a great update.

Unfortunately, I cant.

This is useless to the game. The only reason a cat is useful is to sell for death runes. And you can do this without a new quest.

the instrument is the lil charmers flute u get to use once again in the quest not really interactive more a pain figuring out how to get it to play the melody u need in the quest.

not a bad thing tho the rat pits need a lil more balancing me and my bud pitted our wiley cats against each other a dozen times or so and i lost every one of the matches, my cat just stood there waitin to be attacked no matter which tactic i told it to use while his went right out to the mice and dug in

other than that and giving ur cat a name at the end that can only be seen when people talk to ur cat it is kinda pointless.
