I think that it'd be cool if the blood altar was deep in a dungeon, less complex than the Chaos maze but more lengthy than the Cosmic one to reach.
The soul one would then be up on a mountain either in the elven lands or the gnome tree stronghold (because it's happy and would then serve purpose to higher levels :) )
