Joining

Hiya, my name's Matt.

First off, to explain this post: I never made a joining topic when I first joined here. Actually, I hadn't really wanted to join in the first place. I was known as a regular at Runevillage's chat and was sitting in chat when Rafe came in. Having been known around chat as a decent graphic artist he messaged me about this "Design Crew" he ran at a forum called "RSBandB." Like I said, I really wasn't interested but he had me on msn and constantly bothered me about joining "his Design Crew." I finally gave in and though I told him I wasn't going to be an active poster, (Posting just really isn't my thing, I just read topics rather than reply to them. In fact, although I had been at Runevillage since 2003, my post count there is only a little over 500 posts.) I gave in and applied to his crew.

I had been with the Design Crew for a while and then one member had this idea to create a weekly competition for signatures. Since the Design Crew members were "the best of the best" at that time in terms of graphics, each of us were asked to become judges. I, along with several others, accepted and the SOTW was thus started.

A few months later both Rafe and Chewy Wok (The leader of SOTW) decided to leave RSBandB within the span of about a week. Having been just about the only DC member left and the most active SOTW judge, I was appointed to both positions.

Needless to say, this kept me quite busy as I was juggling these two tasks along with schoolwork and as well as having become a chat mod at RuneVillage. As thus, I employed a friend of mine from RuneVillage to help with SOTW and the DC. (Whom you may know as Nate) We managed to get the Design Crew running and employed a few more Council members (MQ, Dave, and Anubis)

As most of you know, the Design Crew ended recently and, though it was a stressful situation it was going to happen sooner or later and I can gladly say that MQ and I are friends again.

So yah, I bet you're wondering what exactly the point of this post was. Well, it's just basically a reminiscent of my beginning here at RSBandB, explaining how exactly I came to join and how I came to stay.

That being said, I hope to continue to enjoy my stay here at the RSofBandB
