Well, actually there was plenty of fighting when we invaded, many wars was fought and won under the British Empire in India - saying that India as a whole wasn't very united and we pretty much turned them against each other and that was the reason for a lot of our victorys there.

But your wrong by claiming we got kicked out, not by a long shot. During the start of WW2 the British Empire made a deal with India, if they helped us out we'd give them independency.

That's pretty much what happend, i mean yeah Ghandi had an affect but lets face it, we're not known for being the nicest people in the world we treated other countrys like they was dirt most of the time his peaceful movements wouldn't of drove us out if it wasn't for other things going on.

So yeah to cut it short, we'd never have left if it wasn't for the fact we was fighting a war for the worlds freedom and he took advantage of it, we hardly wanted them giving us trouble, lol.

The royal family hasnt had total power in the running of the country since the 16th century, they really just got less and less to do with the country from thier on. Im agasint the royals, they cost tax payers of england 36million pounds per year average.

India was ours by spoil of war. We were running the country well and modernising it for the better. Ghandi was a terrorist, who in my opinion was almost single handedly responsible for runing the greatest empire in history.
