What keeps you playing?

I was just sitting playing RS and thinking what makes you playing same game for a long amount of time? Friends? Desire to be number 1? To spend some time on another useless game which you will quite sooner or later?
And please do not say ADDICTION.
Some of my friends still make keep playing, because more than half of my friends quitted RS even who people got to level 100+. And I have been playing around 2 hours a week, I have ben playing other games now and RS wasn't that intersting as it used to be.

What keeps me playing is my friends from school. I usaually talk to them about school or what homework we have. If my friends were to quit rs i would quit to because the game would be boring.

My hardest goal is to get at least the 10,000th rank, and im less than 40,000 rank....

Getting to 13 million as of 99 skilled, would be an very long time, and right now, im half way to 99 str, and right now, im 6 million exped, almost 6.1 and its so darned hard to see any where to train in f2p, all i can see is just ice warriors, and pkers to train on (maybe dms, or "seroious" pkin)

then there's the fact that it quickly ends my boredom. then there is the desire to show every one else im not a noob. i train at the ice warriors every day.
