I bought Gears of War 2 today, and it's incredible. I haven't even touched the online yet, but I will tomorrow. I think that the game is a bit unfair at some points, but it is still pretty amazing. I'm up to the point where Dom and Marcus find Dom's wife. I acidentally skipped the cutscene as soon as she started getting old and stuff xD I'll go back and watch it tomorrow. The story's still really epic. And the part where they find Tai was ... Disturbing, to say the least. :| I tried Horde mode... and failed on level 3. xD I think it's really fun, though.

So, those are my first thoughts on the game.

If anyone wants to play, just send me a message on XBL or on here.

Your opinion of it will undoutably go downhill onceyou've spent some time playing the multiplayer.

The campaign was one of the best of 08 and horde is good for a laugh i agree. Good game, just fails hard in multiplayer.

Agreed, as good as the single player experience may be, the multiplayer experiences outweighs it with disappointment. The multiplayer experience actually caused me to hate a game that I once loved playing online every day.

I think that the online mode for it is actually pretty balanced. I hated being owned by a shotgun point blank on Gears 1, but when I did it they didn't die. Now on Gears 2 is a lot easier for me to get at least a kill or two in one life.

I liked it, I'm not going to spoil the story for you.

I like that you get downed on campaign now though, makes it a bit less annoying.

ill do some horde with you when Im on.

I didn't like the campaign play at all. And I think that COD4 online is way better. might just be that I like call of duty better :S IDK

Its not just you, I agree that the multiplayer is a bit of a letdown. Still a fairly good game nonetheless.

I've been playing with the bots in Private Matches. They're complete pushovers on Insane. I mean, if I can kill the entire opposing team with a LongShot, all but two with headshots, it's pretty pathetic to say the least. (or maybe I'm just good? :o)

I love the LongShot though, it's really fun to use. I used to hate the LongShot on Gears 1, but I love it on Gears 2. I get tons of headshots. Usually every kill is a headshot, lol.

And that's another reason i despise Epic for what they did to gears 2.

Destroyed the long shot. No active down, it bounces about **** stupidly when you get shot (WTFH? that is ANNOYING) and most importantly the auto aim on it is crazy now, the auto aim in gears 1 (if there was one) was just..not noticeable, i couldn't tell you if it was there or not.

It's very very noticeable now and headshots are a lot easier to pull off, dunno if they fiddled with the hit boxes either.

Sure i couldn't use the original longshot too good, that was down to my own lack of skill, that's something i can live with. Having the thing aim for me is just something I'd rather not have.

Still, to each his own i can see the appeal.
