So I've quit WoW.
I need a new addiction.
I'm looking for a MMORPG that is free.
I will probably play it till SW: The Old Republic comes out.
What should I play?

I would say GuildWars.
Much to my dismay I had to quit WoW before I got to lvl60 (yes, I know that's not the highest anymore). So I went searching for a Free MMORPG like you are. Honestly, there isn't much to choose from. You have like 2-3 client based games (i.e. RuneScape) and one "real" game (GuildWars).
Although you have to buy the game, GuildWars has unlimited free online play. Everything in the game is accessible (thus, nobody pays to get things "special"). Everything can be unlocked with time and skill, that's it.
So if you're willing to spend about $30-40 on a game that is free, then go GuildWars. If you want something totally absolutely free, then go RuneScape/MappleStory.

its not a mmorpg but its a fps that is free and online, combat arms
you get sorted onto a team and then you basically just want to own the other team..its like call of duty
you download the game at the websight and then you can play forever without having to pay a dime
they also update the game regularly with new maps, game types, and gear. it just came out in like may 2008 so get a jump on it before its really discovered by EVERYONE. theres idk..i would say 1million ppl that play it already
