Twinks are fun, but can be very annoying at times. And, I really dont see how theyre expensive to fund. You can get good gear from DM very easily. Black Defias aremour in pimpin :D

They always annoyed me to be honest :| I have to look at it hypocritically though - if I were doing it I'd be having fun, but I hate other twinks. XD

Oh and also:

Wikipedia wrote:
In computer role-playing games and MMORPGs, twinking refers to outfitting a new character or player with items or other resources that are not normally available to new or low-level characters. A twink in this usage is a type of powergamer and munchkin. The term can also refer to the twinked character itself (e.g., "My twink has all the best gear.") In its most basic definition, a twink is a character with better gear than they could have easily gotten on their own.

One example of twinking is when a player equips themselves with higher-end gear in order to avoid the "newbie" hump. Another example of twinking is when a player equips themselves with all the best possible gear for his level range and fills them up with end-game enchantments in order to easily kill newer players.

The practice of character twinking can also be found in World of Warcraft, where players are divided into level-brackets in Battlegrounds. By using above-average equipment otherwise difficult or impossible to obtain by other players in the same bracket as well as using end-game enchantments, twinked characters have a significant advantage over non-twinked opponents in terms of survivability and lethality often having triple the health of a non-twinked character. Twinking in Battlegrounds is more common in low level-brackets, due to the relatively lower costs to supply twink equipment and higher potency of end-game enchantments. According to World of Warcraft designers, the ability for players to twink was a design flaw.

Actually a lvl 19 twink can cost around 10000g.

And half of the equipment isn't from DM, and don't forget the enchants.

Flame baiting, spamming or whatever, I think it would have been only fair to ask what everyone else thought first. Regardless of the outcome, it would have been a lot less selfish (because removing it like this is) and would have gotten a much better response.

10,000g is way off.

I've twinked in the 19, 29 and 49 brackets and can tell you it's cost me no more than 2000g each time.

I'll use my level 19 hunter twink as an example (http://armory.wow-europe.com/character- ... ellfire&n=H%C3%B3mer).

150 engineering = 100 - 200g or hat from fishing comp = free
+8 agility head enchant = 30g (if you have a main to farm the rest of the things, otherwise 100 - 150g if you pay someone to do it (same for +100 HP))
Shoulders = Free from SFK
Chest = Quest reward from Westfall, or last boss in DM
Chest enchant = 100HP 50 - 100g, +4 stats 100 - 150g
Bracers = 1- 2g off AH
bracers enchant = +9 stam or +9 agi, 20g
Gloves = Free from WC,
Gloves enchant = +15 agi, 50 - 100g
Belt = free from WC
Legs = 1 - 2g from AH
Leg enchant = Clefthide, 100g. Nethercleft, 300 - 400g. Cobrahide, 150g. Nethercobra, 400 - 500g.
Boots = free from WC, or boots from fishing comp = free
Boot enchant = minor speed, 20g. Boar's Speed, 150 - 200g
Rings = quest reward + PvP reward
Neck = PvP reward
MH weapon = 100g
Weapon enchant = 100g
Bow = free from WC
Bow scope = 10g
trinkets = AGM + insignia, both free but take a bit of time.

Total of everything (I took the most expensive prices of everything) = 1534g

I've also twinked a warrior in the 19, 29 and now 49 bracket (http://armory.wow-europe.com/character- ... =Hellfire&n=Bangbang) which cost roughly 2000g in each bracket.

As for what I think about them, well I enjoy playing them, but I wouldn't make them if others didn't. I made them to compete with other twinks, and not to 2 shot 'lowbies' (that's just a nice extra :P :P)

Most people decide to make twinks as a sort of personal goal. Yes, it's annoying to get your *** kicked in WSG by a twinked out lvl 19, but the fun in twinking out lies more in acquiring the gear, doing a lot of damage in BGs, and joining premades. Mowing down non-twink players isn't really all that fun, and I don't think that most people decide to make a twink for that purpose.

I think you'd be surprised. Alot of twinks seem to enjoy repeatedly slaughtering my ordinary lvl 19 characters. They enjoy it so much, in fact, that they camp the graveyard and intentionally never let the game end. :x

Actually, camping GYs is a strategy that I've seen non-twinks do as well (mostly rogues). It's what people do when they want to turtle a game and it can be really really annoying as well. As for repeated killing, I suppose it's like a level 60 killing a level 25. It's easy, but most people don't really have all that much fun doing it.

IMO that isn't the best gear out there.

What is your idea of the best twink gear then Zvono? :S I can't see how a twink can cost as much as 10k g unless you massively over payed on every single item and enchant.

That IS the best gear out there for a level 19 hunter twink. No question.

Also, I agree with what MQ said. When I first twinked my warrior I admit it was to compete in battlegrounds at a decent level, but after I'd finished her at level 19 I enjoyed researching the gear and making sure my experience bar didn't go over level 20 so much I only stayed at 19 for a while then started researching what instances I need to do, what quests I need to do and what gear I needed to buy for the 29 bracket. I stayed at 29 for even less time and then moved on to 39, all the time trying to perfect my gear, I wanted the best of the best and did alot to get it. At 39 I spent even less time, but this was partly because friends I had met along the way were moving up to 49. Now at 49 I'm almost done, just need 2 more enchants and 1 last level. I admit I'm not as perfect as I can be at 49, there's a ring from BRD that I won't be able to get, and a cloak from Maraudon which I'll miss out on aswell.

Twinking sort of stops at 49 when it comes to doing quests and instances since the best gear at 60 is PvP gear so I think I'll skip to 70 once I've had my fill at 49. I'm aiming for exalted with Silverwing Sentinels and exalted with League of Arathor before I move on, then at 51 I'll grind the rep with AV and hopefully be a level 51 Justicar.

The price also depends on what realm you play on. Some enchanters are way overpriced, or the AH is Crowded with overpriced items.

it doesn't matter what realm you're on, 10k gold is still completely unrealistic.
