just from those 3 suggestions i think oblivion is fun. i've played it and it really does waste a good month or two. mass effect is awesome and for an rpg it is rather short even if you did just about everything maybe 2-3 weeks, less if you were like me and had no summer school

i'm playing the witcher right now, it's a nice game but the problem i have with it is some of the quest are really confusing and you can have a hard time figuring out what you are suppose to do without a guide. and unlike oblivion you can't fast forward time in this game unless you decided to pay an inn or freeload off a friend.

Well uh Oblivion for me because its the only one of those games that I own. 8-[

I just love the amount of stuff you can do and how big the world is..
And Fable isn't in there?

Oblivion, hands down. That game is awesome and I still play it now and then just to play it, and I've beaten every guild, have every achievement, ect.

I highly recomend it, it's practicaly RuneScape put into first person. (Although I don't play RuneScape anymore, that's what it reminds me of)

That's what I view it as too.

Plus, you're gonna get your money's worth out of it, it's a VERY long game. Don't even bother with Mass Effect, it's so overrated. (I guess people could say the same about Oblivion... in fact, if Creepy posts here he probably will say that. )

Oblivion for sure out of what you have up there. But as others said definitely take a look at Mass Effect. It's one of the best RPG's out there and I personally had a lot more fun with it over Oblivion. (Not that Oblivion isn't fun) Also, Fable 2 and Fallout 3 are right around the corner.

How can you say Mass Effect is overrated? I'm a huge Oblivion fan but even I have to admit that Mass Effect is better on almost all areas of the spectrum. Both are excellent games visually and both give 100+ hours of playtime with multiple playthroughs. Mass Effect has the edge though by a substantial amount in the combat aspect with an actual combat system rather than hack and slash. Plus, the abilities in Mass Effect are actually all useful. Personally, in Oblivion I only used a few of the skills. Not to mention Mass Effect dialogue and decision making features along with one of the best stories in a video game ever. How exactly can you defend the fact that it is overrated?

I wasn't necessarily comparing Mass Effect to Oblivion, but to RPGs in general. I just don't think it's as good as people make it out to be, because most of those people have never even played a JRPG.

Well, JRPGs and Mass Effect are in two completely different categories. I can understand why you wouldn't like Mass Effect if you only like JRPGs.

oblivion is very overrated, I only explored about a quarter of the whole map but I had all the best stuff and had no need for anymore money which is all you get from the same old ruins and caves.

Oblivion is fun but there is something about the game that makes it better when you first play it. it gets rediculous when ur lvl 20+ and the bandits are wearing DAEDRIC!
