Why do you play a violent video game?

I'm a violent guy (I enjoy a good spar, although sometimes I go all out ragefest and beat the **** out of the other guy) and yes I play violent videogames. I don't learn from the games, but my violence pretty much is from my parents(Father mostly), the people I mix with, etc. Violence isn't specifically from videogames, but most of the influence is the environment.

So why do I play them? To do crazy stuff that I'd otherwise get caught for in real life. Or, beat the living hell out of someone but noone gets hurt in the process.

I can kill people via halo 3 or I could kill people via guns. Which do you prefer?

I'll assume people would rather be killed via internet than real life.

Violent games, like every game take you to a new world.

You can imagine the people you're killing are enemies in real life so you can "kill" your real life problems

It reliefs stress.

Killing is..fun. I know that sounds a little crazy but shooting someone to win a game is fun.

If I only played games that didn't include killing/hurting anything, I'd have a very small selection of games to play.

Sports/racing games and Animal Crossing style games.
Can't really think of any other type of game that doesn't involve killing in some form...

Boards games? Some people do. Monopoly is great fun tbh. And you can't really buy card games.

I mean computer board games. As in Monopoly for the Gameboy Advanced.
Board games aren't counted when it comes to playing violent vdeo games, are they?
