CoD:WaW has my console glitched?

Today I was playing CoD:WaW, and I was using one of the semi-auto rifles, and all of the sudden the gun only shoots a bullet every second, no matter how fast i press the trigger. It went on for hours, but eventually I had to go. I turned my 360 off, and later i turned it on and it wasn't like that anymore.

Is this some sort of glitch or is it Treyarch taking their trigger lock too far?

Treyarch added an Anti-Mod to Cod WaW. So if at any time you pull a semi auto too fast (or use a mod) it slows your maximum trigger speed way down. There is nothing wrong and this is intended.

IMO they set the bar way too low, cause I have many friends who cant set it off with their finger. So yes they took the trigger lock way to far.
