Alone in the Dark

Figured I'd throw this down here just my thoughts on it.Has anyone else played it yet?

I've got it and it's not half bad. Graphics are great in places and crappy in others. Very movie-like game, there is A LOT of scripted moments from what i've seen so far so one play through is good enough, beyond that i suspect the "wow"factor will wear off.

Controls are arg but you can get used to them, there very interest. Most enemy's can only be killed with fire so it makes things tricky, i had to beat some lady over the head with a chair repeatedly till she stopped trying to get up, grab her by the ankle and drag her into a fire. XD

Isn't as scary as the previous alone in the dark games, at least not that i've found so far but the camera is still pretty god awful, just like in the old games. Tis worth renting people! Whats anyone else think? Played any of the older games?

Just to show yee what it's like:

**** epic, very movie like. That video does not do it justice, a lot more chaotic when you go through the first time, a lot going on with cars being thrown about in the distance, things blowing up, things falling everywhere. Feels like you're in a film.

Course it is all trial and error and the wow factor will wear off after a few plays, definitly a rent though.

Definately looks nice, might buy it, if they release a demo for it I'll make sure to download that.

Atari claim there going to have a demo out soon. I can't see it being very good though, it's a very story driven game IMO

Wonderful wordplay pretty much made it inevitable :p

I recall seeing an Alone in the Dark game for the PSX, if I can get my hands on one and play it i'll see how similar/different it is.

When i bothered to play PC games i actually had a couple of Alone in the Dark games, they was pretty scary at the time. This ones lost the fear factor (or perhaps I've just out grown it?) but it ups it in other areas.
