I always used either Pikachu or Samus on SSB:Melee. I don't think I'm going to even bother with Brawl, SSB games just get boring.
you vermine you slime, you scoundral, etc, how dare you say such atrocities.
character of choice: link --> kirby --> pikachu
i like link for his ability to fight at a distance and up close. his bombs have a good stun at medium range, and his arrows are good for sniping. his gale boomerang can bring players back to you for close range attacks. my favorite part is that you can grab them with his hookshot from just out of their attack range, and all of his smashes hit multiple times to prevent anyone from dodging then returning a smash of their own.
kirby was my favorite character in the original ssb. they made him rediculously lightweight in melee, but he's a little heavier now. i'm a little dissappointed they removed his fireball as a running smash, but the fact that he now break dances instead is very amusing ;o. kirby is the ultimate edgeguard-canceler, since his ^+b slashes in front of him, as well as above/below on the way up/down, and also, he can just absorbe the edgeguarder and let them fall out of him while he floats back to the platform. his short range and low speed are a big problem though.
pikachu is good in aerial fights. his ^+b allows for a quick air dodge in any direction a good length, and when recovering from a fall, you can v+b to set a wall of lighting behind you to stave off your opponent. his grabs are powerfull, his aerial side smashes hit and stun the opponent, and above all, he's fast and small. its hard for lots of players to hit pikachu well. in melee he was a little faster, but his attacks were weaker overall. i think he's a much stronger contender in brawl.
