Game Difficulty

I've been thinking about this for some time now, and I thought I'd discuss it with you all. So when I was having some fun a few months ago and doing Gears of War by myself on Insane, I was wondering "Do you get weaker or does the opponent get stronger?"

Personally I think that you become weaker, but what do you think?

Depends on a game, of course. But in most cases the opponent gets stronger, i'd say.

What about games that have no opponents?

Obviously I'm talking about games that have opponents. :roll:

I'd say you get weaker and the opponents get stronger. Sometimes, on games the enemies take more bullets to kill, but you lose health more easily too. Good discussion thingy though

I never saw it as you getting weaker...

The enemies take more bullets to kill, they have more health, and they become stronger, dealing more damage. In theory, that means that they've become stronger. But then again, maybe they take more bullets to kill because you've become weaker, and they kill you faster because you have less health...

I guess only the game developers know the real answer to that question.

I'd say it was probably a bit of both, because there's no real health meter with numbers as such to judge...

Although, I think it could be you get weaker and your enemies just get smarter.

It all depends on the game. In Medieval 2: Total War the enemy armies will get a drastic morale bonus in vh/vh compared to normal. It just depends on the game dev on what they want. Activision Blizzard does things different from Epic which does things different from EA, etc.
