Which do you think is the best race and why?

In WoW.

Just curious, I've not tried them all and i don't really know much about any of them. Give detailed reasons anyway.

I think that the best Alliance race are Humans.. because I'm human. The best Horde race are BLOOD ELVES because they're cool looking.

ENTIRELY depends on your class.

rogue
Nelf for proper play gnome for twinks.
Troll/undead - both are good for various reasons, both have higher natural agil than orcs, undead have the will of the forsaken but trolls have berserk for extra att speed

warrior
dwarf
tauren or undead - tauren are better tanks because of higher hp but undead are better dps'ers.

hunter
Nelf for pvp dwarf for all-round - nelf owns in pvp for shadowmeld + prowl on your pet isthe perfect ambush. dwarf has extra crit % for guns so theyre better for all-round play
Troll - better crit % for bows and berserk for better AS.

warlock
human/gnome - high intel gain for gnomes, the extra stealth is very handy for a clothy
Belf - orcs suck, Belfs own for magical classes.

mage
human/gnome - same as lock
Belf - same as lock

Druid
need i even say.....?

loladin
any race for alliance as theyre just ownage already.
if i have to tell you for horde stop playing wow.

shaman
same for alliance as horde for pally
depends what stuff you wanna do. tauren are best for pvp imo because of their hoof stomp and high hp. imo trolls are best for pve because of berserk, extra speed and regen is always good for raids

priest
not too sure for alliance, not very familiar with priests
Belf - same as mage/lock, belfs are the king of magical classes


my opinions to take into account, dont swear by what i just said as there are obvious reasons to pick other races but thats jhust my faves.

Majority of racials are so weak it barely makes a difference in actual game play. I'd say the only decent racials are Will of the forsaken and escape artist (Undead & Gnome respectively) for pvp, the human rep increase is slightly helpful for all the rep grinding in tbc, oh and the tauren +5% is nice. But again, it doesn't make or break a great tank.

Shadowmeld is total rubbish, since it only works when your standing still, not sure why people go so crazy over it, I'd say that increased agility starting nelf rogues get plus the dodge is more useful.

As far as my favourite races go, well I've played undead, troll, and nelf to 70. Undead are nice, like the casting animation. Trolls.. meh, I liked them at first but they began to get on my nerves, plus a lot of gear just looks awkward on them imo, and nelfs, well I rolled a nelf rogue as my first character. Not sure why now though. The stealth and most of their other animations are terrible.

I'd say undead are my favourite.
