Years ago, a small tribe of people split off from the Fremennik in Rellekka and decided to inhabit the mountains to the east. There they lived as nomads for many years, but now the chieftain of the camp has lost his daughter and will not move on before she has been found.
Has she run away? Has she been eaten by trolls? Or is there something more sinister going on? Only you can find out. Getting Started Requirements:
20 Agility and the ability to defeat a level 70 monster named "Kendal." Length:
Rope, Plank, Pickaxe, Hatchet, Gloves, Spade. Entering the Mountain Camp Items Needed:
Head northeast of Relleka to the Mountain Camp. You should see two paths. A guard is blocking the entrance to one path, and he won't let you pass.
Take the other path and use your rope on the boulder. Go east until you find Hamal the Chieftan. Speak with him to begin the quest. Ask him why everyone is being so hostile, then ask why they are living up in the mountain. He says he won't leave until he finds his missing daughter, Asleif. Tell him that you will help look for her. Asleif's Spirit Items Needed:
Go south of the tent and "Dig Below" the roots to get some mud. Go to Jokul's tent and pick up the pole. Go along the path to the north until you find Ragnar. Speak with him to find out that he was engaged to Asleif.
Use the mud on the Tall Tree next to him and then climb the tree to get to the small island in the lake. Use the pole on the Clump of Rocks in the lake to jump across to the second island. Then use a plank on the Flat Stone to get to the island in the center of the lake.
Listen to the Shining Pool to hear Asleif's voice. Ask what it wants. Asleif has died, and the voice is her spirit. She asks you to reunite the Mountain Tribe and Relleka, and to find a food supply for her people. Tell her you will help, then use the plank with the Flat Stone to get back to shore. The Ancient Rock Items Needed:
Speak with Hamal again and ask him why he hates the other tribe so much. He doesn't hate him, he just tries to ignore them. He tells you to go find Svidi.
Go back down the entrance, but this time climb over the pile of rocks near the Guard.
Head west of the Mountain Camp and look for a man named Svidi. He can be hard to find, but just look for yellow dots on your minimap; he sould turn up soon. He doesn't want to go into the Fremminik camp because he's afraid he will be killed. He tells you to get him an Agreement of Safe Passage.
Talk to Brundt the Chieftian in Relleka. He says that he wants the Ancient Rock that the Mountain Tribe stole from the Fremminiks.
Go back to the camp (enter near the guard), and mine the big rock in the tent to the southeast of Hamal. You get Half of the Rock. Take it to Brundt, and he gives you the Safety Guarantee, which you should give to Svidi. The White Pearl Items Needed:
Speak to Hamal again and ask about the food supply. Talk to Jokul, who tells you to find a special fruit called the White Pearl.
Wear your gloves and go to the Gnome Glider on White Wolf Mountain and pick the White Pearl from the Thorny Bush. Eat the fruit and spit the seed out. Take the seed to Hamal. The Kendal Items Needed:
Plank, Axe, Armor, Weapon, Food.
Return to the Shining Pool and speak with Asleif once more. She tells you that you need to convince her father that she is dead.
Return to shore and head north to the other side of the lake. Go all the way east until you find some trees. Chop the trees until you reach the Cave, and enter it.
You will see The Kendal, and he will start growling at you. Say, "It's just me," mention the sacrifice, say that he's just a man in a bearsuit, ask to see Asleif's remains, tell him you will kill him, and then attack him.
He's only level 70, and a very easy kill. Anyone under level 80 may want to use Protect From Melee.
After you kill him, the Bear Helmet will be transported to your inventory. Pick up the Corpse in the center of the room, then leave the cave and return to Hamal. The Burial Items Needed:
Tell Hamal that The Kendal was just a fake. He tells you to bury Asleif in the center of the lake, and then build a Cairn of Rocks over her grave. Search the village for five Muddy Rocks, and speak to Ragnar to get Asleif's neclace.
Return to the island in the lake and right-click Bury Asleif. Use the Muddy Rocks on her grave, and quest complete! Rewards
