An Enlightened Journey!! (Completed)

Quest: An Enlightened Journey

Difficulty: Easy

Length: REALLY LONG since it involves growing a tree AND waiting for a branch to grow every 5 minutes, medium if you already have willow branches.

Items needed: Optional teleports to reduce time, 1 bowl, 3 sheets of Papyrus, 1 unlit candle, 1 sack of potatoes, 1 ball of wool, 1 red dye, 1 yellow dye, 8 sandbags (use empty sack on a sandpit), 1 bowl, 10 silk, and 12 willow branches (Auguste will give you a sapling to plant if you don't already have branches or a tree grown), Tinderbox, 10 normal logs (will need more if you crash the balloon)

Requirements: 30 Farming, 20 Firemaking and 36 Crafting

Where to start: Speak with Auguste in the southwest corner of Entrana

1. Speak with Auguste in the southwestern corner of Entrana to start the quest. Agree to help him in his project.



2. After that little dialogue he sends you out after some supplies for an experiment run first--3 sheets of papyrus, 1 unlit candle, 1 ball of wool, and a sack of potatoes. Run and get them then return to Auguste. (Papyrus can be bought at the Ardougne general store, unlit candles are in the candle shop at Catherby, ball of wool can be bought at the Ardougne general store as well, and a sack can be bought from the Farmer shop next to the allotments in Catherby. Use 10 potatoes with the sack to fill it up)



3. When you return to Auguste, you will run two experiments. Talk to Auguste when you get back. Use a sheet of papyrus with the ball of wool then use the origami figure you get with the unlit candle to make a balloon model.





Talk to him again and you will make another model which gets rampaged by a flash mob yelling, "Kill the floating thing!!" That takes your little piece of magic out of the air..



4. ..okay. So now he sends you off to get supplies for the real thing (plant the willow sapling he gives you in a tree patch and give the nearby gardener the basket of apples). Go get: 1 bowl, 1 red dye (3 redberries and 5 coins, talk to Aggie in Draynor), 1 yellow dye (2 onions and 5 coins, talk to Aggie in Draynor), 8 sandbags (use an empty sack on a sandpit), 10 silk, and 12 willow branches (use secateurs on the fully grown willow tree). You will have to give him some supplies then come back to your bank for more since you will not have enough inventory space for all of them at once. Once you're done and waiting for the tree to grow, go do something else cause it will take FOREVER (220 minutes, to be exact). You can give him 12 willow branches from other willow trees, if you have them.



5. After the tree grows, wait another hour for all 12 branches to grow. Use the secateurs with the tree to get the branches.





6. (I suggest bringing a few teleports for this part) Once you're back on Entrana with your branches, tinderbox and 10 normal logs, use one of the branches with the metal frame on the stand next to Auguste. You will see a short video, then you will need to talk to Auguste again. Let him explain how to handle the balloon (in short, drop a sandbag to rise a lot, add a log to rise a little, pull the red rope to drop a lot and pull the other to drop a little).

As a bonus you get to use the Balloon Travelling system. Here's a picture of where all you can fly to:



After the quest you can use the balloon to fly to different places, but you need to pay a "fee" of sorts to use the balloon. New locations can only be opened from Entrana.

In order to fly to:
Entrana- 20 Firemaking, no other requirements.
Taverly- 20 Firemaking, no other requirements.
Crafting Guild- Bring 10 Oak logs with you the first time you try to fly there, and one every time after. 30 Firemaking.
Varrock- 10 Willow logs the first time, and 1 every time after. 40 Firemaking.
Castle Wars- 10 Yew logs, and one every time after. 50 Firemaking.
Grand Tree- 3 Magic logs the first time, one every other trip. 60 Firemaking.
