This is my guide to 99 fishing. I am qualified as I have 14.5m xp in fishing. I'll be going through the fastest way to get 99 fishing, and then multiple money making ways. Please remember this skill is long and very tedious. Stick with it.

Fastest XP(member)

1-15
Fishing shrimp in Draynor village is good until level 10. Bank at draynor. The first ten levels get to be pretty slow because your catching them so slowly. Fish with a small net. This should take you around 1 day.

15-18
Fish anchovies in Draynor. Bank at draynor bank. You will catch shrimp along with anchovies. Fish with a small net. This should take you around 1 day.

18-30
Use a fishing pole and buy some fishing bait from the nearby fishing store and start fishing herring from the sea south of Draynor Bank. Bank at Draynor. Do this until level 30. This should take you about 3 days.

30-70
Head down to Shilo Village, after completing the Shilo Village Quest. But a fly fishing rod and as many feathers as you need from the fishing shop their. Start fishing in the nearby river and bank them in Shilo Village bank. You make some money but you will also get 40k per hour then 50-60k per hour towards the end. This should take 2-3 weeks.

70-99
Go to the river below Barbarian Outpost after buying as many feathers as needed plus a heavy rod which can be found under the bed ofOtto the barbarian near the waterfall. You will need 70 fishing to catch the leaping sturgeon.Fish their until 99 and either drop or deposit your catches, I suggest dropping.

Fastest XP (Non-member)
1-30
This is the exact same as the member fastest guide. Just follow the above steps for that.

30-60
Head over to lumbridge with a fly fishing rod and as many feathers as you think you need and start fishing on the river lum (the one in lumbridge). Fish their, and sell your catches to the Lumbridge General Store. Do this until level 60. This should take around 3 weeks.

60-99
You can either take the Fly fishing in lumbridge method, or you can do this one. Catch lobsters in Karamja all the way to 99. Sell your catches to the general store. This will take you months so I hope your prepared to put in some time!

Money making methods with fishing

-Monk Fish
When you get to 62 or preferably higher, start fishing monkfish. You will start fishing them slow, but you will eventually get faster getting 100-150k an hour. They are also halfway decent xp. Fish these at Piscatoris after Swan Song, and bank them at Piscatoris bank. Also, you will be fishing them with a small net.

-Sharks
When you hit 76 fishing, preferably 96 start fishing sharks. These will give you 100-200k an hour and are really slow XP. Fish these at the fishing guild and bank at the fishing guild bank. You can fish them with a harpoon or with your hands at level 96.

-Rocktail
To fish here, there are many requirements. They are found in the living rock caverns.
You need to kill creatures in that dungeon to get the bait which is dropped in quantities of 3-15. The bait is a pain to get and these are very weird in the sense that you get them in different times. You could catch one every two minutes or you could catch 10 every two minutes. These are currently more than sharks and there is a deposit box right in the dungeon so knock yourself out! These are currently the best fishing money in the game averaging at about 200k per hour.

Some Extra Items that could help

-Swordfish or Shark Gloves
These are obtained through fist of guthix mini game and give double xp for the 1k charges they hold. They make XP for these fish extremely fast!

-Hand fishing
You are able to handfish sharks and swordies to gain some extra strength XP. This is Barbarian training.

-Stealing Creation
Doing the Stealing Creation minigame can let you buy a sacred clay harpoon for 20 points. This gives double XP for a time. A Volatile clay harpoon gives 2.2 times normal XP.

Last Words
I hope this guide helped you a lot. It took me a lot of time to make it. Remember, fishing took me about 5 months to get 99 from doing all these methods. With hard work, you should be able to acheive it in about 3-4 months. Good luck!
