Hello RSBandB. I'm a long time Runescape member, but have played mostly as a loner with nobody on my friends list for years. I finally decided to come out of my shell and try to be part of a community. So after listening the the RSBandB podcast for several months, I felt this would be a good place to start.

A little bit about me...
I'm in my early 40's (don't laugh please :) ), and mostly play runescape as a distraction from the stress at work. I also game on the XBOX, but because of financial problems, I had to let my XBOX Live membership expire and havn't played any new games over the past year. I'm a big science fiction fan and love the Stargate tv series, Star Trek, as well as other shows like warehouse 13. My mate is also plays runescape and is a PMOD called "thelioness o".

A little about my Runescape "career". I believe I've been playing for around five years, not sure of the exact date I started. I played as a free player for nearly 6 months before becoming a member. Since then, I've done every quest besides the newest void quest. I've got lvl 99 in every skill except runecrafting and dungeoneering.

The past month I finally decided to get serious with runecrafting and get it out of the way. I'm on track to probably get 99 runecrafting around the end of the month, (then no more runecrafting ever again, =D> ). As for my other remaining skill, at the moment I have absolutely no desire to do dungeoneering. Most of the xp I have in that skill comes from tears of guthix, penguins, genie lamps, and achievement diary rewards. I'm sure after I have runecrafting done I'll play a little with dungeoneering, but I have no desire to go for the crazy level of 120 in that skill. I've been making sure I do the penguins every week, just so I can get that 30k free dungeoneering xp in each week, lol.

Anyway, that's just a little bit about me. I look forward to being part of the RSBandB community and making plenty of new friends. :)

Welcome to RSBandB! It's always nice to meet new people. I hope you enjoy your stay here and make some friends around here. If you have any questions you can always give me or any other moderator a PM.

Good luck getting those last 2 99's

Welcome to the community!

Don't feel out of place because of your age, RuneScape is a game for anyone to enjoy. There are people here on RSBandB your age and older, I know of a few people who are over 60. I wont name names, they can make themselves known if they want. :P

Runecrafting and dungeoneering have to be my least favorite skills too. Good luck with them.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I must admit sometimes when I'm gaming I feel a little out of place. Whether it's Runescape or console gaming, if I reveal my age I can almost hear the snicker's coming from the younger players.

Thing is, I've been gaming in one form or another my whole life, it's just natural to me. I started with the Atari games, and have played almost every console system since. At one point I even had such obscure systems as the Turbographix and 3DO, and yes, I even owned a Nintendo Power Glove. That was back when I was young, single, and had money, lol.

I must admit I've lost a step or two the past 20 years, like with FPS games, I just don't have the same reaction time to compete with the younger crowd, so I usually get owned in games like Halo or Call of Duty. This is one of my favorite forms of entertainment though. Some of my co-workers choose go to a bar and get drunk, I'd rather relieve the stress of the day on XBox or in Runescape.

I know it seems strange, but i'm sure even when I'm in a nursing home I'll still have a controller in my hands, (probably be too feeble to use motion gaming like kinect, ).

Trust us lion, most of us are probably just as old as you are. and even if you are older than most of the people here combined, that also means you have a lot more experience

Thanks to my husband, I am now an RSBnB addict! Grrrrrr! (blows a smooch to my Lion man)

Good to know we aren't the only geezers addicted to RS and other games. I'm the social butterfly in our family so I have had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful folks who are 50+ years of age and that makes me feel better.

Well, time to go make a post in my own intro thread. (currently watching my husband work on catching jadinkos.) :D

Oh and I am also a HUGE fan of Fringe too. =D>
