So recently I've been uploading a few files through hosting websites and I was wondering if I could upload a folder?
I know that I can upload an archive (.zip) with many files included, but the people who are accessing my files don't know how to open them.
So I was wondering if it would be possible to just upload a folder or multiple files at once as a single file (if that makes sense?) and not as an archive.
Or would it solewould it be based on the hosting site?

No; this is what .zip archives are made for. In order for the people accessing your files to download a whole folder at once they need some kind of download manager and they probably need to use FTP.

Windows Explorer can handle zip archives on its own starting with Windows XP, so your users should have no problems with them. :?

Unless you're using ftp, it is very rare to find a hosting service that allows the upload of multiple files. When looking for file hosting, look for "drag and drop" compatibility.

Just explain to the people how to open a .zip. If they can't figure it out then there is a problem :/

Alright then, I just made a small guide on how to open .zip files and that should hopefully help whoever accesses my files.
Thanks for asking my question, this can be locked.
