Is there a favorite operating system to run Runescape on. I mean to say that is there one OS that prevents key loggers and hacking better than another. Or are hacks and keyloggers written via a script like PHP or Javascript, or do they run in an autonomous environment like Java? Just wondering.

Mac or Linux would be your best bet. Most of these keyloggers and trojans are written for Windows. So if you get a mac or run on linux it'll be much harder to get infected. Just remember that no operating system is 100% secure.

Keyloggers are mostly hidden within jpeg images, and they are windows exe binaries. I have not heard of a Mac or Linux keyloggers based around runescape yet. I haven't actually heard of any mac or Linux keyloggers, actually.

RuneScape runs pretty well on the Mac. I did have the odd problem on Linux - it would use up a huge amount of processor power, far more than on Windows. Being honest, though, I dont really have a favourite OS to run RS on. It generally just works pretty well.

As Shane said, no OS is 100% secure. If you want security for RuneScape, though, your best bet is probably Mac.

That is debatable.

OS X has far fewer viruses, malware etc. Far fewer meaning not even in double figures. I personally would say that OS X is more secure, but it is still a debatable issue.

Concerning your question regarding keyloggers and hackers, you will be better off with a mac or linux system for now. Windows is targeted by the majority of hackers because it is used by the majority of people. Mac and linux, being used by less people, are safer at the moment; that could, and I stress, could change if the mac or linux userbase grew to the extent that it would spark the interest of hackers. Of course you could also use windows and be safe if you were sure to secure your computer properly. I personally run windows, a firewall, and a decent anti-virus program coupled with some common sense regarding the internet and making sure to update frequently. Whichever OS you choose, be sure to update it frequently and perhaps make use of auto updating mechanisms.

I would say mac and linux are allot more secure then windows with the former being the most secure of all, although like mcnabb921 said it also depends on the security on your computer and the sites you view and the things you download. I personally use windows with a firewall and good anti virus and windows defender. But you could also use linux like my bro does although the hardest part about that is getting the java to run stable. I don't know about mac because I don't have one.

A Kid asked Jesus, "How much do you love me?" and Jesus said. "This much."
And spread his arms out on the cross and died.
If you believe that he did this for you put this in your signature.
