on the manufacturers web page (http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?M ... 3&cat=Specifications) it says under other features "- 2 x SATA Data Cables (optional)" so I'm not sure if it comes with any, how many do you think I would need? 2? Also thanks for the feedback on the other items

2 should be good since you have just the one hard drive, and dvd drive. And your external hard drive comes with an eSATA cable if you wanted to use that instead of USB for the higher transfer speed.
