With the new beta of messenger, you can connect your wlm to facebook. So, is there a way to do facebook chat through wlm, or just send messages, which is all i know how to do?

Yes, although your contacts will be in a seperate "category" (new Wave 3 and 4 term) from your other contacts.
After you add your Connection or Activity or whatever the heck Microsoft changed it to THIS time, you will see your facebook contacts inside a seperate category within messenger. You'll then be able to send the messages as you would through facebook or any other program.
