Pretty nice computer. The video card looks pretty good. How much memory are you gonna get?

About the case. I was reading about those kind of cases one time. They might look good but they do not have electrical grounding. So make sure you ground your hardware some way to make sure its not in danger.

Comp will be pretty nice though. Have fun with it. :)

none the less its no bad.. i hate clear cases though.. ugly ugly ugly...

I prefer just a light metal case with clear see thru window on the side, sound activated blue neons, that also flash when music is bumping :P

No offense but if you don't know what you're talking about don't post.

No sense getting the Ultra at this point, the 7800GT or GTX has more pipes and the clock speed can be raised substantially, best bet with that. Plus, it's around the same price area.

The 3800X2 is not just a decent processor, it is one of the best dual-core processors you can get right now.

2GB of RAM I would say would be best for running games like FEAR and Battlefield 2.

Look into PC Power and Cooling 510W SLI PSU, best PSU out there. If not that, the OCZ Modstream and Powerstream PSU's are amazing too.

Budget? Because I could get you a nice dual channel 2GB G.SKILL PC4000 kit for some serious overclocking :)

**Jeff, i was being sarcastic :P i looked at that processor and wanted it, but had to say something stupid :P cuz that is one nice processor**

Remember some people ugrade from really bad computers, and some people have small spending limits..

Overclocking isnt everything either, it puts your strain on your processor, and makes everything work alittle harder. Its good if you want everything to run faster. But other than that, it puts strain on your processor, and it doesnt last as long.. Assuming of course you are overclocking alot without upgrading your cooling system. But even so, with a new better cooling system, it still puts strain on the processor, whether its your video card, memory, or cpu.

Overclocking memory isnt so bad though.

He doesnt need such a powerfull power supply as that. Unless he runs alot of the top of the line stuff. I see with your new stuff it will be quite powerful, so it would be nice to get a 510watt power supply.. That way you wont need to worry about upgrading it later.

Dual core processors, pretty much top of the line for speed and gaming, but a bit pricey. Also with amd's kick &$$ fsb speeds, it really pwns.

2gig of ram would definitely be best. in 2x 1gig sticks. Corsair, Kingston, Crucial are some pretty good brands for memory. Something like Kingston HyperX 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 900(PC2 7200) but be prepared to pay alot. Then with all that you would have to get a new motherboard so it can support your vid card, memory etc.

With all that power and speed, you wouldnt have to overclock, and i dont recommend overclocking.

With the system you want to build, where are your ordering the parts from? a website, a local store? if you go to places like http://www.newegg.com be prepared to be ripped off.

Nice points CZ, you have good technical intelligence :)

May I counter?

A processor's stock life expectancy is about 8-10 years. My Sempron 2800+ is rated to withstand about 8 years. Now clocking it up 600MHz at 2.2GHz has taken off about 2-3 years, which is fine because I upgrade my machine every 1-2 years or so. Really what I am saying is that most people will upgrade before it dies, just make sure it has decent cooling.

In his case, the 3800X2 is PLENTY powerful enough for games today. Later on when it gets outdated, he has the option of overclocking.

2GB is crucial, especially for newer games.

If you are on a budget, the PSU in my sig is 450W and has 36A total with dual 12V rails, which is awesome.

And Newegg doesn't rip you off, you need to be concious of current prices on parts. The machine in my sig is a budget one and costed me about $650 off of Newegg, it would probably cost me about $800 at Micro Center or CompUSA or somewhere like there.
