I never get quite organized enough to time myself or figure out hourly rates. I can give you a hunch though.
1) Smelting gold (with gauntlets) seems to be the fastest smelting exp. Maybe the fastest smithing too, unless you do something rediculously expensive like buy rune bars and smith them.
2) Folks say that "power mining" iron is the fastest mining exp. But I hate having to drop all the ore. In the old days, you could continue mining when your inventory was full, but no longer. Also, I can't bring myself to waste resources. So instead of dropping the ore, I'm tempted to bank them. That slows down the actual mining experience.
3) Though I didn't mention it in my original post, I'm sneaking in some crafting experience. I've a bank full of gems that I'm making into ammys with the gold bars.
