First ever signature

This is my first ever sig and i made it off of gimp, but i cant figure out how to get the different kinds of brushes...

Just rate it, remember its my first one, so give me a break :lol:

^makes it easier for peeps to rate and view when u post it with img brackets instead of as a url link.

not a bad render, but the black on white on black for ur text and background is kinda bad even for a first time sig. mix it up a bit or take a look at the render u pick and grab a color outta it to work from.

thanks, ill try and do that on my next one, could anyone maybe give me like a detailed tut on how to get all the different kinds of brushes?

im not very good at this :roll:

i made this one just recently also, after my first one, rate this one if you would like...remember, this is only my 2nd one, and i still dont know how to get the different brushes...so im still taking help on that too :wink:

MMM you need to experiment a bit with fonts, the ones you're using don't go with the sigs and are the wrong colours.

Your first one wasn't all that bad a bit empty but it was fine enough if you looked past the writing.

As for getting brushes, just search for gimp brushes on google or something. Find a good site and download some, put them in your brushes folder and they'll work.

it looks like you used the default designs for whatever program you used....im not sure if it's gimp or photoshop. You definitly need to add a background and actually paint your sig..

Your just like my friend...he only uses Gradients as his background and just edit them a bit to make the look different.

You gotta learn to use brushes http://www.deviantart.com. Search Photoshop Brushes, Grunge-Abstract-Vector or w/e you want

tj, i tried getting new brushes, but i dont know how to get them into Gimp... thats why i use gradients btw

Yeah, brushing is a basic you have to learn. Having said that, my favourite style of sig is by manipulating the render - but that's in PS, I'm not sure if it be so good in the GIMP.

To install GIMP brushes:

-Click on "My Computer"
-Click on the C: drive
-Go to "Program files"
-Go to "GIMP"
-Go to "share"
-Go to "gimp"
-Go to "2.0"or whatever the number is
-Go to "Brushes"
-Just drag and drop the brushes. The brushes will be there when you restart the GIMP.

I think that's how to install GIMP brushes. If you can't find the "brushes" folder, after you go into "C:/Program Files/GIMP", press ctrl+F to search for the "brushes" folder, and you should find it.

Sorry to be harsh, but they were harsh on my eyes.

For starters, try reading the GIMP tutorial, found here:

After that, find other tutorial sites and get better. You like using renders, so i'm sure in time you'll be a good sig maker. ^_^
