Hello "Belski"

We have detected multiple failed log in attempts (5) on your account.
Therefore, to insure maximum security, we blocked your account on Runescape Bits & Bytes for 30 minutes.

You will have one more chance to access your account, using the correct password, at Sun 11. Nov, 2007 04:48:29.

If you receive this warning and are not responsible for those attemps, you should contact the site admin, and report this issue.

If you forgot you password, please use the appropriate link to receive a new, random, password.
Of course, you will be able to change that random password.
Here is a few tips to choose your new, secure, password:
- Never use "simple password" like your birthday, your dog's name, etc
- Use both number and letters in any combination
- a longer password is harder to guess.
- use different passwords on different sites (e.g. use some of the site name letters in your standard password)

Contacting the site administor-I don't know how to otherwise sorry, so I'm just going to post it here.
I didn't do it

It means someone tried to get on your rsbandb account. Make sure your computer is safe and after change any password you might want to change.

And you can come into contact with any administrator by sending him a pm.

The person/bot that was attempting to login to your account has also tried many other accounts. Their IP has been banned and hopefully they wont be back.

I still don't get why these people/things are trying to get into user accounts, what purpose is that going to serve.

Well, my hypothesis:
They have your account, basically your ID on BnB. So they add other members on msn (they send a pm with request for e-mail adress). Then they engage a conversation with another BnB'er and ask VERY subtile (happend to me) their recovery questions. => HAcked beyond repair.

I don't understand why they don't they don't target admin accounts. Whenever these attacks happen, none of the admin accounts have been attempted to logged into.

yeah really, theres no point in hacking a user level account they could do much more damage if they aimed for mod level or higher accounts

This isn't a message you want to get. In any case it shouldn't be happening anymore.

Mike, I think the reason they haven't targeted any Admin is because they want RuneScape gain, not RSBandB gain.

They know that an Admin would not add and start talking to a normal member for the soul reason of a 'plain' conversation like Gontcha said. And even if they did any User would instantly suspect something was wrong when an Admin added them just to 'talk'.

That's why I think they aren't targeting Admins.

Even if they were targeting just normal users, I would have thought getting an admin account would be what they want. With an admin account they'd have access to everyones emails that are hidden

They may not be smart enough to navigate through the ACP, if they're just going for RS gain then its very likely they aren't.

Ahh. I just checked my email, it would seem they at least tried to get in on one mods account. XD

Pity my password isn't that easy to crack. Hard luck losers.
