Debating Forum?

well, i was thinking maybe we could have a debate forum here, so people like me could debate with other people about politics, government, and recent events,

That would definately cause flaming. There is a wide variety of ideoligys here and no doubt they would clash.

Debate = Flaming, Icing, Fire Extinguishing, Foaming, Dirting, and Backfire.

Debates obviously cause flaming, because that's what a debate is!

If people can debate maturely and use proper evidence to support their idea. I don't see why not.
But so far almost all the threads related to debating has caused huge flame wars. Not good. [-X

maybe, if you flame, you get an auto-warning. should be in a sticky.

Theres only one problem with making a sticky. Only half the people read the stickys. Everyone else will break the rules and they will be warned, then complain.

Jeff has a good idea but the chances of people debating maturely are very slim. I think it would be best to not do this idea.

you do mean flame forum dont you? wont work IMO to hard to moderate....

but then again i like to argue and get my opinion out about the many topics that are happening and wouldnt mind listenening to everybody elses opinions...so basically depends on the topics you are going to be debating
