This is making me frusterated by this because I feel like I have done nothing.

Well...it's a post..what you've done is made a post. The evidence is the post so i wouldn't be frustrated. Post count means nothing and is nothing.

With that said some areas allow post count others do not, you actually got 1 for posting in the site area so you can live happy.

Yes, your posts only count in certain forums. For example, the post count is disabled in Goals and Achievements, Recruitment, Welcoming Area and the Sandbox.
