After reading pages 1 and 2, I half expected the number of special ranks to drop. I was personally astonished and appalled at the posts. It's 2 special ranks. There was no need to flame. The DC, in my opinion, was never needed in the first place. I stand behind Shane and Mike's decision 100%. move on, and let the forest regrow after the fire.

That must be the most intelligent post so far in this thread.

I'm disgusted that any of the former DCC members would make such accusations about each other. Coming from people I thought were my friends. Instead of making my own accusations towards each of you I'm going to move on.

I could never tell who was telling the truth on the DCC. That annoyed me.

Anubis.
Thank you for everything you did in your attempts to patch up the Crew's record of inactivity. You actually gave a d*mn about us when the other DCC members couldn't care less, and you're a great friend.

Dave.
While being unfortunately inactive, you are the only DCC member I remember as having a clean slate. From what I saw, you were majoritively cheerful and never put anyone down. Well done.

MQ.
I thought you'd taken a turn for the worst until the very next day when you were "rudely awakened". Funny, in a way. I got the impression that you somehow held the council together. You may have been rudely awakened by the DCC, but it was for the good of RSBandB.
And I don't mean you being kicked off the council.
I don't know what happened (behind closed doors, may I add) but you were the last person I expected to be removed from the DCC.

Matt.
I believe you made the best leader (despite certain things you will know I want to say, but won't). That was my judgement, though I don't know you well enough for it to really mean anything.

And Nate...
What can I say?
Good luck as a chat administrator; I think you will do an exceptional job with that.

I apologise to anyone I may have offended in talking about the DC(C) after I resigned from it. Especially the ex-DCC members, even though some of you were in the wrong at times, too.

There are things I could add to each of those reviews, but like Ult said, it's time to move on.

My suggestion though for graphic that the DC would have done. Maybe, make a new catagory/forum titled "Wanted Projects" or something where Mike or Shane can post any sort of graphics they want done. Then anyone can post their graphics there and Shane and Mike can pick the ones they are going to use.

Graphics Trader for minor, RSB&B Site for major? :o
A new forum would be so unnecessary it's not funny.

MOVE ON.

I think any contributions should go into the RSB site. Graphics Trader is hardly the place. Especially by judging some of the qualities of posts in there. I suppose I can't really judge since I only visit is occasionally for the Buddy Workshop.

Not to revive a dead thread, but as the founder of the Design Crew, I would just like to post my thoughts on what happened. I have no intent to bring up any conflict that has since died.

You had left the DCC, and Matt was as good as gone from it already with him resigning. MQ was moving forward with the DC, going to get something up and running for the crew to work on right away.

It has been months since a design crew site project was promised for the graphics crew, and the last site design did not involve the crew at all, although it did showcase some of the talents of the members. The site was produced by the DCC only. There was also a forum skin project handed to the DC, which is also only being worked on by the council.

I know it is hard to divide these kinds of projects up between members, and that is one of the reasons why the design crew never should have existed in the first place.

You have to admit, other than the odd signature project, and a few extras like wallpapers, and tutorials (which were all very nicely produced), the design crew did not have much to work on, and they were left wanting more when there is nothing to give them.

Shane and I allowed this crew to be created with the condition that Shane and I would have no part in this crew and that there would be adequate projects for the crew to work on. This however never really happened, and the amount of members have slowly died over time.

Everyone who was in the design crew was very good at what they did, and we very much appreciate the work they did, but the crew was just not really functioning with the lack of projects, and ideas for new projects were sparse.

One does not need to be in a "design crew" to contribute to the site, and this design crew rank was starting to become a joke because of the minimal appearance of the design crews work around the site. Shane and I do not have anything to give the DC to work on, it's not that we don't trust the DC, it's just that we have lots of stuff in the works already and we don't really have a need for graphics that much. The only graphics work we really need is the tedious work of cutting out backgrounds of images of Runescape items, npcs, and objects for guides, and that is not in the spirit of the design crew.

I would like to thank everyone who was a member of the design crew for their support and submissions to the site. Thanks for the skill signatures, SOTM/SOTM trophies, wallpapers, graphics tutorials, and rank images. I encourage you to continue your support to the site. If you have suggestions or comments for what the site needs or should be changed, use the RSBANDB Site Section forum, that's what it's for. Any submissions for site graphics such as skill signatures can also be posted there or directly PMed to Shane or I.

Mike lies not. When we first discussed the idea of opening the design crew, they said that their main involvement in the project would be giving us occasional requests of work. I can't say that during me tenure as manager of the DC, that ever really happened, but what he says is true. I know that as the leader my main goal was just to start up the enrollment and by the time I had some good enrollment going, I found high school and college applications too dominant in my life. Thus I passed the baton on to Poison333 (AKA Matt)...

I think the DC was a good idea, but not for this web site.

In retrospect, I have to say that I agree. When I first brought up the idea of the design crew, this was following the "Collapse" of graphical integrity on RuneHQ - art and design used to be a heavy part of the RuneHQ society and it kind of died. I tried to start that on RSB&B shortly after I accepted a mod position here, and my thought was that on RSB&B there was a much larger proportion of users with graphical experience who would be willing to participate on group projects. I can't say that the design crew was successful, unfortunately, but at the very least we all gave it a shot. I'm sad to see that no legacy ever started.
