Patience is a huge factor. Find a skill or money making method that you like and stick to it. As your skill level and/or knowledge about the particular money making method goes up, the money starts flowing in. Seeing that you want an abyssal whip you probably like combat. Depending on your level, you could find different things to kill for their loot. In the meantime, you could also train your slayer which promises very good drops at higher levels. Hope this helped!
