What's the benefits on each of these? I've been told several times that rapid is way better, but I have no idea why.

I'm 77, soon to be 78, so I take that as a rapid all the way. How much difference is it between rapid and accurate anyway, when it comes to chance of hitting?

Well, Jagex has probably worked it out to be equal.

For example if you can...

Time to Fire
Fire 1 Accurate = Fire 10 Rapid

Damage
Accurate (10) = Rapid (1)

Those figures are just my interpretation and aren't the actually numbers.

If you are wearing items which can increase your ranging strength (robin hood hat, etc.) then it would increase the damage done, which would mean that firing rapid would be more effective damage and time wise than accurate.

Basically the more items which give you ranging bonuses, the better rapid is to choose.

The design crew should make a caculator which tells you how much better off you are ranging rapid than accurate or something.

I am not sure that full corect..indeed accurate is slower but after i tryed along test i found that accurate is stronger then rapid by 1-3 hits higher...but since rapid hit 1 every 1.5 sec and accurate every 2 sec rapid actually add up to more hits then accurate in the long run.....

id say rapid all the way!!!!!

rapid is better if you fight vs. monsters that everybody wants(hill giants, moss giants, etc.) because u attack them before they hit them
i always use Rapid though..

rapid=ur more likely to break an arrow but u fire much faster always use this when training or unless the monsters cb is >then ur range (except for pking) because ull be firing so much faster that ull be hitting just as accuratly
accurate=less likely to break an arrow, basicaly only use this if u need to kill something really big
