Usually level 3 to 10 becuase a noob isn't someone who is not good, its someone who is new. You would think that after they get level 10 and advance a few skills they would not be new anymore.

In some cases it doesn't matter your level just how you act, for example if you were to act very annoying and were level 90 you could be called a noob but if you dont and your level 3 you won't be called a noob.

i'd agree with wizard, it means: Newbie which means: a new person, player(esp. in games) which is new to the place/game

i think this definition deserves a friggin sticky.

Noob- The term used as a reference to an annoying little twerp (scammers, persistant beggers, people who follow you around trying to bug you. So forth and so on.)

Newb- New player, fresh off tutorial island. Combat levels do not apply, but total levels do. a level 3 culd still have 99 fish. a 100 total though..is somewhat a newb.

a noob to me is someone who doesnt know jack squat. You could be lvl 120 and I could be lvl 3 but if I knew more about RS than the lvl 120 he or she is a noob.

A noob comes from the word Newb or Newbie. Which means someone who is new to something. So you can say a baby is a Newbie because he has little experience in life.

But the word noob has turned into a general insult around runescape. Part it is part of society

well technically if you are high level and you act like a noob you are being a choob. so really a true noob is RS sense is someone lvl 3 - 10 or so.

i think that noobs are just plain misunderstood

when i was lvl 8 i was working on mining a lvl 36 said to me
"noob! go work on mining somewhere with ur own kind!!!"

i then challenged him what pick i had and he said " ummmm..errrrr.... iron"

i was thrown into a rage " u call me a noob??!?!?!?!?! i have a rune pick!!!!!!!"

he said " ur jus a noob how could u understand?" the n he said " i don't believe u show me"

i clicked trade showed him my rune pick and clikced accepted for spite.

he clicked accept and i yelled "choob"!!!!!!!!!!!

ok, let's not turn this into a topic for n00b stories 1st of all...

and i think a n00b is someone who annoys you a lot. i'd call one of those lvl 20s in cwars who keep on doing 0s on me, then a lvl 120 comes and kills me, and the lvl 20 calls me a n00b. i mean, wdf...

that's what i call a n00b. so its really someone who gets under ur skin and hosts a party there...

I believe you're looking for the term newb. A newb is lvl 3-30, however a noob can be lvl 126. Newb- a new player, noob- a stupid or annoying player.

-Definition:
*Newb: New player who tries to get the experience from the game according to the rules.
*Noob: Annoying new player who is lazy not to read the guides and getting started
-Noobs don't have a special level, but comes from anything from 1 to 70
-If someone calls a noob a noob without reason, well he is the biggest noob
What would we be without the noobs? No stupid trades, no stupid dialogues, nothing to laugh about!!!
