Google and MS aren't really doing the same things. Google does for Internet and Microsoft falls in the software development category.
Possibly Google takes over Yahoo!

Google still needs some development, but they are doing well so far.

Google doesn't have public mail, the Gmail thing is still in beta, I don't know why.
Google doesn't have auctions, shops. Google doesn't have lots of things Yahoo has.
