OOC: It might take a while, seeing as our crew is in a completely different dimension at the moment.

BLISSARIA FOREST _________________________________________
"Have you ever seen trees like this before?" asked Gia.
The forest wasn't consisting of pines or spruce. These trees were long and twisted, bearing no fruit or leaves, but instead large patches of inflated bark that appeared to burst out the seeds from random areas. They had to be careful to avoid these explosions or else they would be covered in not only the seeds, but also the thick gooey sap that went with it. This regeneration wasn't natural.
The sky darkened to a black and the forest began to come alive with noise. Fortunately, each of them had their own light source: Alex 43: his chest symbol, Gia: his eyes, Karl: his sword, Maeteru a quick light-orb spell, and Arasa with one of her bells.
Suddenly, Alex 43 tripped over a dead abyssal demon. It was missing several limbs and covered in roots that were slowly squeezing the blood out of it. It appeared that the trees themselves were consuming this dead body of its internal features. There was a moment's silence as the group absorbed the shock and picked up the pace.
"Castle of Death." said Alex 43, "I suppose it's to be expected that the forest kills as well."
"I don't like this." said Gia.
"It's simple enough." said Karl 67, "We don't die and they don't eat us."
"I'm into that." replied Alex 43.
A hour of walking later bestowed upon them a sight that made them almost throw up. Several abyssal creatures were caught almost inside the trees, held in by twisting roots and over-growing bark. Some of them were even still alive, and were shrieking into the night in an attempt to escape, but it was all they could do.
"Change of plans." said an un-nerved Karl 67, "Let's stay away from the trees altogether."
"Ah, I like it when you think outside the box." replied Alex 43 almost as nervously.
"Guys, keep your wits about you." said Gia, "They're just trees. So long as we move quickly, we'll be fine."
"You're right." replied Alex 43, "They can't get us if we-aaaaah!!!"
Alex 43 was yanked off his feet by a root that entangled his foot and was being quickly dragged into the darkness. Gia, panicking, gave immediate chase and was closely followed by the rest, fearing separation.
Gia finally found Alex 43 on the ground. His spear was stabbed into the ground and he was holding on for dear life.
"Get off me! I got no insides!" Alex 43 shouted to the darkness behind him, but nothing listened. The root expanded itself to tie around his legs and around his waist, and several others were going for his arms. Gia swung his sword and sliced the root going for his left arm, but another swift root took its place and grabbed Alex 43.
Suddenly, Gia took a hit to his own arm. A root from the tree behind him took interest in White Dragon and wrapped itself around. Gia let out a loud roar of effort and yanked, not only the root, but the entire tree out of the ground in a hard forceful pull, sending it toppling over into several others.
"Get Alex 43!" shouted Karl 67, who was also being attacked by the trees along with Maeteru and Arasa.
By now, Alex 43 was almost completely covered in roots and was being dragged away again. Gia gave chase again but was pulled back by 2 other renegade trees, to which he deliberately ripped out of the ground as well.
Unfortunately, in the time it took him to break free from the tangle of roots, Alex 43 had vanished. Karl 67, Maeteru, and Arasa too refuge in the clearing that Gia made by ripping out the trees that grabbed him and were, at the moment, out of range from the roots.
"ALEX 43!" shouted Gia into the dark forest, "ALEX 43!"
Only the empty silence save for the rustling of a few unworthy roots answered his called.
"NOOO!" he roared into the night sky.
"No, he CAN'T be gone!" said Karl, "He can't be!"
There was a long silence. Gia had his face in his claws, resisting the urge to weep and gathering his wits. Although Alex 43 was gone, they weren't, and they still had to get out alive.
"Listen up." said Gia finally, snapping out of his grieving, "Apparently they take movement as seriously as death. If we travel at a steady pace and keep each other in close contact, we should be able to get through this. We're almost there."
"What?" asked Maeteru, "We can't just leave Alex 43!"
"I know, but if we went to search for him, we'd probably get taken too." replied Gia, "At least we can make his death a distraction for us to get through."
"No." said Karl 67, "I gotta find him. You guys go without me. Whatever happens, Guthix is watching over me." He attempted to rush towards where Alex 43 vanished, but Gia grabbed him.
"We're not losing you too, Karl!" said Gia.
"Let me go!" Karl 67 shouted, "I gotta find him! I gotta-"
"SPIRIT OF PUREBLADE! STRIKE!"
Alex 43's voice boomed over the heavens. Above them, a bright white glow appeared in the clouds, lighting up the sky and the forest around them. Suddenly, the giant lightning sword they knew so well shot down into the area in front of them and shot a huge chorus of lightning around the forest, vaporizing some trees and burning away others. The trees that it did not hit seemed to shrivel up because of the light alone shining on them. Finally, the sword itself exploded in a huge blast of lightning orbs, converting and and all trees within a 60 feet radius into ash and all was dark once again.
Gia saw the light from Alex 43's symbol dimly glowing up ahead and rushed over to help him, Karl, Maeteru, and Arasa right behind him.
"You don't know how much of a relief this is." said Gia, almost in tears as he lifted Alex 43 up and hugged him. His armor was bent and twisted in many areas because of the roots, his left leg being the worst.
"I hoped I wouldn't have to use Pureblade this soon," said Alex 43, "But it couldn't have been helped."
"At least you cleared the trees away for us." said Maeteru.
They looked. The remainder of the trees separating them from the castle had been converted to nothing more then a disintegrated ash. Trees can respawn from a chopping, but there was no recovering when the entire root system keeping them alive was nothing more then a smoldering ruin.
"Let's go." said Karl 67, "Before they spawn more trees."
"I need you to carry me." said Alex 43, "I'm too weak to move."
"Of course!" replied Gia, slinging Alex 43 over his back and dashing for the castle alongside Karl, Arasa, and Maeteru. Castle of death or not, it HAD to be better then this horror of a forest.
