Well today I was experiencing strange colouration during games, after about 2 hours of it I decided I should restart it to see if that made the odd colours going away (the colours were usually yellow lights turning a neon green colour, as well as blue streaks going up and down my screen). I turned it off then on again and my tv couldn't find a signal from my component cable. I unplugged, replugged retried and same result. I tried it on normal White, Yellow, Red and there was still no signal. I unplugged it and let it rest for another couple of hours, thinking overheating could be the problem. Just now I replugged it and got the exact same result. There's no Red Rings or sectors so I'm thinking it's a problem with the TV but I haven't had an oppourtunity to try it with another TV as of yet.

It sounds like it may not be the Xbox- especially as there are no red lights. The first thing I would do is try another cable. If you get the same result, try an eliminate the TV by trying the Xbox on another one. Only if you get the same result again can you be sure it's the Xbox.

I've tried it with another tv downstairs and the same result came on both component and regular RYW. Although I did notice this time when on component I got the startup noise through the TV so it could well be the lead. My friend is coming over today so I will get him to bring his lead and xbox just incase.

That happens to me sometimes with my TV,although mine does it whenever it wants to. What's the model and such of your TVs?

You've eliminated the TV by trying a different TV. Try a different cable (different component HD, VGA, HD). This is a lot like what happened to mine back in May. Somehow my video card got fried...

If you still have warranty just call Microsoft and get it replaced.

If you don't have the warrenty on it or just don't feel like waiting 2-4 weeks, there's always the option of finding the nearest game store and having them see what's wrong.

I have and its the same result. I called up Microsoft and after a very long winded affair this Indian lady told me it was the graphics unit that was broken and told me I'd have to pay £82 to have it fixed ($133 dollars for you yanks). I'm pretty gutted but these things happen I guess.
