I just now have enough money to buy RAM, but I have a question about RAM and if this is okay.

Crucial.com had a scanner thing that lets me know what kind of RAM I can buy and whatever, but when I go to select my Model of PC, it doesn't have the model I have, but it has one that is two numbers smaller (Mine is T3306, and the Model of the one is T3304), so is it okay to buy the RAM that the T3304 is compatible with, even though my Model is 2 numbers higher?

(Sorry people who commented on my last topic :|)

Edit: My PC is this:

eMachines
T3306
AMD Sempron(tm) Processor
3300+
2.00 GHz, 448 MB of RAM (I have a 512 MB stick in there right now, I guess XP makes takes like 100 MB to run or something)

Memory Upgrade for eMachines eMachines T3306 Computer, the eMachines eMachines T3306 Computer takes the PC3200 DDR SDRAM DIMMs. Memory Type, and comes installed with 512 MB (removable) of Memory. You can upgrade your eMachines eMachines T3306 Computer to up to a maximum of 2.0 GB Memory, the system has 2 sockets to install Memory, already with 512 MB (removable) standard Memory installed. For best Computer performance use the maximum amount of allowed Memory per slot for your Computer.

If the RAM you're looking at is PC3200 DDR SDRAM DIMMs, then go for it.

Well, the current kind of RAM I have in my PC that came with it from the manufacturer is called "DDR PC3200", but when I look for RAM that is that kind, it comes up with a whole bunch of RAM types, and I can't even understand what most of them are, and if they'll work on my PC.

Well that link you pasted in your last topic was the correct kind.

I'm not totally certain on this, but I don't think your processor supports dual channel ram. So you would get no benefit from getting 2 sticks of the same RAM.

You could just buy a single 1GB chip and pop that in and be fine. Of course you could always get 2 sticks of 1GB, if you wanted, it's not that much more expensive.

Here is another link with the ram your computer supports (184 Pin DDR 400/PC3200):

Yeah, thanks Mike. I wasn't certain if that RAM was the kind I should get or not. ;)

Thanks to you too, MQ.

Lock please.
