To begin with whenever I boot my laptop up and type in my password the screen is just all black.
It stays black until I start running "explorer.exe"
That means I have to press ctrl+alt+del and run task manager and run the "explorer.exe" and everything starts popping up. (Background, Toolbar, icons)
What I need help doing is getting my "explorer.exe" to start automatically.

Thanks,
-Zac

Go to the window where it shows you what programs run at startup.

Add explorer.exe

Or, if that doesn't work, I'll make you a batch file that starts explorer.exe at startup.

On Vista, I looked around. I can't find the start up programs but no add button or anything to add explorer.exe

Also I have no clue what a batch file is or what is does so maybe you can tell me what it is and what it does.

I'll probably use your batch file for my computers sake.

Heres how to get to that window -

Control Panel> Programs> stop a program from running at startup

this should work... I think
