I made a really cool email template...

When I made it in Thunderbird, it looked like this:

and then I sent it to myself and it looked perfect in thunderbird, but when I looked at it in my GMail, it looked like this:

What happened to all of the formatting? How can I get it back?

Edit: I sent it back to thunderbird using gmail, the formatting is gone.

Edit 2: All three of the major email sites (gmail, yahoo and hotmail) have stripped the formatting in the same way.

How can I make it so the formatting stays? I've seen emails that do so...

I tried using css in an email, and it worked on thunderbird, even when I sent it to gmail, the problem is that gmail strips all of the css out whether you're viewing it or replying to it.

I tried in hotmail and yahoo: Similar results.

I've seen email newsletters with css formatting, why didn't it work for me?

I think you can try to set it "Send as html", it could help.
